Because of the lumber shortages, are your prices going up? We try to absorb as much of the costs as we can, but the short answer is YES. As the prices of raw materials along with the increases in shipping costs due to increased fuel prices we have to keep pace.
How does Southern Yellow Pine differ from the pine I buy at the big box stores? Most pine you get at the big box stores is considered white pine or SPF (Spruce, White Pine or Fur) that is soft and needs a lot of care when kept outdoors. Southern Yellow Pine is the strongest most durable of all the pine species for outdoor use. Consider it the "Teak" of the pine world. We get all our Southern Yellow Pine from a local sawmill that is completely clear and knot free.
Do you carry / offer wood other than Southern Yellow Pine or White Oak? We typically only stock Southern Yellow Pine and White Oak as it's readily available in our area. Southern Yellow Pine is also the most economical, White Oak is the most comparable to Teak and Cypress while still at the same time being more affordable. We can source other types of wood like Western Red Cedar, Hickory, Cypress and Ipe, but special orders do take longer and the price significantly increases due to shipping and other variables. We would require payment in full before we order the wood and start the order.
How do I care for my chairs? We recommend you try to keep them clean and dry as much as possible. Keep large amounts of leaves and debris off them, wipe off dirt with clean damp rags. During the winter months it's best to keep them covered or stored if possible.
How long will my chairs last? Well that's a loaded question. It depends on lots of factors but mainly on where they are used and stored. We've seen our chairs that were kept and used on covered porches last as long as 10 years. We've also seen them in wooded wet areas, exposed to the sun and weather and unless they are White Oak, they definitely won't last very long.
Do you offer any discounts if I buy several chairs? Discounts starts out if you purchase 20 or more of any one item. These prices are usually for resellers and wholesalers that maintain there own inventory. But are sometimes extended for Bars, Pubs, Wedding and Event centers etc...
